Best Masteries - glass canon, despair etc

Hi folks.
I’ve been playing for a short time and masteries like glass cannon willpower and despair became available for me to unlock. I’m on a (Smaller) budget and I’m interested to find out if buying units to get for example despair helps (makes a difference ) in the game. Anyone care to share about their experience with using some of these ‘expensive‘ masteries? Also what mastery(s) are most important for you?

I would grind units for them in the arena. Willpower has priority, depending on what champs you use (lots of debuffs) or are fighting (regeners) then despair is next. There isn't a big rush for you to get these until you enter act 6/7 content so slowly but surely getting units for them is find. If you do want to spend tho, I'd say it's worth it to buy those masteries.
