So, you want to know about Night Thrasher (a Night Thrasher write-up)

Ah, Night Thrasher. My second favorite skill champion and first ever sig 200 character in the game. He’s fun, and in my opinion, kinda underrated, so I decided to do a little write-up about him. Please note that all stats are based off of a 5/65 with no suicides or any fancy mastery setup.
Passively, Night Thrasher is immune to incinerate and has +700 physical resistance. He also gains +87.5 critical damage rating for each unique debuff on the opponent, and when under a bar of power each time he dexes an attack or parries one he gets 5% of a bar of power.
He’s a great evade counter. Unlike Stealthy, who needs to end his combos in a light, or Killmonger, who needs to punish a special attack, Night Thrasher’s evade counter is available as soon as the fight starts. All attacks using his skateboard ignore both evade and auto block mechanics. These attacks are both his medium attacks, his entire heavy attack, and both his special 1 and special 2. (the last hit of the special 1 isn’t a skateboard hit but the first two hits are so they don’t evade it anyway)
Awakened Ability: Heavy attacks gain a 15 to 35% chance per active gadget debuff to inflict a taunt, which reduces attack by 40% and increases special attack activation chance by 70% for 10 seconds. When you strike a taunted opponent with a skateboard attack, Night Thrasher gains a fury buff increasing his attack by 230.1 to 460.19. He can get up to 10 of these. If Night Thrasher is knocked down, you lose all of these buffs. Try not to do that. When knocked down, Night Thrasher also has a 25 to 50% chance to purify all debuffs.
When he knocks the opponent down, he refreshes all active gadget debuffs. What are gadget debuffs, you ask? Those are applied on his special one.
Special 1 - The gadget debuff applied on the final hit changes depending on the action done directly before launching the special attack. If you use a medium attack and then throw this special, the last hit deals a 12 second incinerate doing 920.4 energy damage. If you use a light attack, instead he inflicts a 12 second disorient, reducing Defensive Ability Accuracy by 50%. If you simply parry, or heavy cancel into the special 1, or anything that isn’t a medium or a light, the final hit inflicts a 12 second shock that also does 920.4 energy damage. These three debuffs are the gadget debuffs that can be refreshed on the opponent knockdown.
Special 2 - Night Thrasher gets a Precision Buff increasing his critical rating by 233.33 for each unique debuff on the opponent. For maximum damage, launch this when all three gadget debuffs (or however many you place on the opponent depending on immunities) are active and you’ve just parried.
Special 3 - This attack inflicts a passive Debilitate, extending the duration of all debuffs by 75% for 45 seconds. This attack will also refresh all active gadget debuffs with the extended duration.
Rotation: My rotation changes depending on the health pool. Short fight? Use a special one, then heavy over and over until I get a taunt, then use medium-medium combos until I hit a special 2 and fire it off. Longer fight? Special 3, then fire off two-three special ones. I normally do two, one for the disorient and one for the incinerate. In between special ones (and after, if you don’t get lucky) use heavy attacks to try and gain that taunt. This is also extended by your debilitate, which is very very nice. Once you get your taunt, do some medium-light-medium combos or heavy attacks to gain fury buffs. (and refresh your gadget debuffs) When you have ten furies, get to the special 2. If you can, have a taunt on the opponent as well for even more damage. Then parry and launch the special 2 for nice big numbers.
Notable synergies: Contest Teammates with the soon-to-be-overhauled Guillotine gives him a 50% chance to inflict a 4.5 second Bleed debuff dealing 70% of attack as direct damage (not bleed, for some reason) when he lands a critical hit. Another unique debuff for the special 1.
Justice on Wheels with Ghost Rider makes Night Thrasher unstoppable when dashing forwards.
Midnight Pursuit with Punisher and Moon Knight gives his medium attacks a 30% chance to inflict a 3 second bleed debuff dealing 50% of base attack as, you guessed it, direct damage. As the Moon waxes, however, this chance is increased to 100%.
There’s also Cosmic Justice on Wheels, with Cosmic Ghost Rider, that let’s him refresh an active taunt debuff with the last hit of his heavy.
Overall, I feel as if Night Thrasher is underrated. His high sig requirement for bigger damage turns quite a few people off, and he’s got somewhat of a stressful playstyle. However, with five star sig stones becoming easier and easier to get, high sig isn’t that difficult to get. The special 3 also takes off a lot of stress with the extended debuff duration, and the payoff is definitely worth it. Will you see Ghost level numbers? Obviously not, but they are decidedly not shabby at all. He is a fun champ that, in my opinion, is worth the investment.

Glad ya liked it!
Great champ. Underrated too.
He just needs a synergy with a champ to pause his debuffs when attacking
Other than that I find him underrated with a lot of utility
Edit: also great write up Spidey
I joke, I joke, great writeup spidey. Always wanted to know a bit more about NT, and even though I probably won't ever rank mine up, I do actually appreciate him a little bit more now. Good job mate!
Huge W for Spidey funko
Nice write up man. One of my favorite champions in my roster
This is also with 51 masteries.
