Go for guillotine 2099 or hyperion

Hyperion or Archangel are my top picks. Hyperion is just so good no matter what. The only thing that makes Archangel lag slightly behind is that he requires opponents to be able to both bleed and be poisoned, otherwise you can't get the most out of him. It's not too much of a hindrance and should absolutely not keep you from ranking him up, but Hyperion doesn't have any such weaknesses. I mean, he'll be neutered significantly if you can't gain buffs, but you wouldn't bring any cosmic champion into a nullify-heavy fight.
