What Counts as Alliance War Participation?

I put my Defenders in but forgot to do attack phase and I’m worried I won’t qualify for Season Rewards.
I did get Alliance War Victory Mail and the other stuff so
But do I have to attack and put defenders in order for it to count as participation because I still got Alliance War mail as stated earlier
