Venom Power Drain

Why does he get power drained here
It doesn't happen on other nodes that power drain the attacker....but on this node it happened fr some reason
It's the node where u lose power when the defender throws a special attack

Also, a picture of the node combination would help. Alternatively, you may just not be aware of several of Peni Parker's abilities (which is fair because she's super new), and maybe they are triggering this. Here are descriptions of several of her power burn effects:
I think this is a weird case of having a Power Drain HUD popup but actually being something like (attacker.power = 0)
I don't know if anyone is actually immune to this.
This is a reason he's one of the best counters to Peni Parker
This includes power drain/burn from anything, be it the champion's own abilities or interaction with a node
This is the first time I've seen him getting power drained against a tech champ since his buff & hence an explanation regarding this interaction will be appreciable
I assumed everyone in the community (who's not a newbie) is aware of this that's why I framed the question like this fr it to be as short as possible
I didn't remember the name of the node that's why explained what the node does
Should kabam correct this (and a lot more) text error? Absolutely. But to use a text error as a pretext to call "bugged" an interaction that you don't like and want to have changed is what I would call "a pathetic excuse", to use your words. ^_^
If Kabam were to change the wording, it would be a petty move but it wouldn't be a bug.
Similar to how Psylocke's power lock says enervate on the pause screen, when it isn't actually an enervate. Or how Brute force says degenerating on the screen when it starts to damage you, but it's actually direct damage (which means spider ham or mr negative can't reduce the potency).
The point of Power struggle is to remove the power, not to drain you. It's not supposed to be bypasses by abilities. And if you want the word on the screen to be changed, sure that's a reasonable, though perhaps fairly inconsequential change, but it's not likely to be changed so that venom isn't affected by it.
The node Power Struggle says the attacker "loses" power
There's another node called Burden of Might & it also says the attacker "loses" 25% of it's power
Venom is immune to Burden of Might's power "removal" & I know this bcoz I used to take the Burden of Might lane in Map 5 with Venom & that lane only has tech defenders
So how is it that the node uses same words i.e. loses fr the effect but the actual effect is different
Not just that but I've used Venom on other power loss nodes as well & his immunity has worked fr all of them
Also, it is irrelevant what the technical background interaction is in the code
To a player it matters what happens in the actual fight & the fight clearly shows this interaction as "power drain"
Now irrespective of what happens in the code it needs to be considered as power drain by the player & not some random sorry excuse of power removal or power loss
One such node is Burden of Might
There's no mention of the word "removal"
Burden of might lose power of x% which is what all power drain effects naturally do so again 2 different interactions that are not the same losing power since power drains go by a certain % of loss power, but a removal is what power struggle does and doesnt state loss of power but urs goes by theirs which would be equal to a power removal which isnt listed in venom immunity
For example, you say “Venom is completely immune to power drain & burn against tech champions”, when in fact, he’s not. He is conditionally immune to those things because of his Klyntar mutation buff, which isn’t always active.
Also, I’ve been in the community since February 2015. People (even who aren’t “newbies”) forget things, and people also mis-remember things. It’s all good.
Don't try to explain technical things just based on ur understanding of those technicalities
Ur explanation is no better than my criticism of this situation since it's only the devs at Kabam who know what's going on here (hopefully)
At this point u're just making assumptions based on things u've experienced whereas the situation calls for factual answers, not assumptions
The question is about consistency of interactions where the node descriptions are same
If we go on to make assumptions fr different interactions in game then we cn justify every single move made by Kabam whether it should be justified or not
