Gwenpool Plot HOLE! (Plot armor failing)

Can someone please explain how Gwenpool’s ability reduction works and what counts as “defensive”

I’m assuming that glancing is defensive as it triggers when struck and reduces damage

Masochism (debuff into healing) involves shrugging off a debuff and restoring health so shouldn’t that also count as defensive?
