AW Matchmaking

In the last few alliance wars for my alliance the matchmaking has been completely wrong. Our alliance is in Silver2 and we were playing against Gold3,Gold2 alliances. is this a bug or Does Kabam need to improve the matchmaking? and has anyone ever faced this kind of thing before? Please share your views.

    Has nothing to do with ranks, but everything to do with war ratings.
