Difficulty of this months Side Quest

I'm a cavalier player, not the most skilled, but I'm able to complete most cav content upon release. But this months side quest just completely wasted resources. With parry and dex failing me, I wasted tons of revives and potions trying to complete it but being unable to get past the Venom on path 3. Really upset that content this hard is being released at a time like this.

It gets easier, the further you go.
I kept practicing until I got through that venom itemless.
From there it becomes much more about your buffs than the fight.
Lane 4, I had one death from a Parry fail to Red Goblin and one death on Knull (just bad play on my part).

Once you figure out how all the persistent charges work its not too bad. Problem is the short window they’re giving to learn it, by the time you get him to rank 5 its almost over

With the right pre-fights it is really not difficult. Just watch a YouTube video, where it is explained

Energy-less content. Don't throw items at it, just start over.

I followed a load of guides explaining where to use the pre-fights but kept on dying because they weren't working for me the way I played. Because of unlimited entry I was able to restart and try again with different pre-fight combinations.

Loads of guides were advising to load up heavily on leech but I found I was able to get away with just 1 leech up until the 3rd SymSupreme which allowed me to throw more into devour and adapt much earlier.

Best advice I can give is don't treat the guides like gospel. That's what works for somebody else. Learn where your pain points are and figure out a way to conquer them.

After several unsuccessful attempts I persevered and just this morning ran the whole thing to 100% itemless.

I actually found the 2nd lane one of the hardest as you have very few pre-fights at that point. Repeat dying during paths 2 and 3 made me believe that path 4 would be impossible but the odd part is that the reverse is true as the pre-fights accumulate stronger than the defender nodes so I was able to breeze through the last part and laugh at the final Knull with "Annihilate" active.

Trust me, don't give up on it and don't just throw resource at it as that's a sign that you aren't getting it right. Suck it up, learn where you're most challenging fights are and plan differently each time until it clicks and comes good.

I'm not the most skilled just an alright player and I cleared it with one revive and some potions. Watch some YouTube videos on what prefights to use and it's ridiculously easy, especially the further you go

If you’re talking about the Knull quest, it truly isn’t that bad. With a few revives, a R4 can finish the hardest path.

If you’re talking about the quests that allow you to rank your Symbioid, then I’m with you. I’ve got 7 entries sitting in inventory (for an additional 3500 6* shards) and I’m struggling with the motivation. Same fights, guaranteed at least 1-2 bad pRNG proc on AA NTs and/or at least one parry/dex fail.

It’s a dead horse, killed many times over by now. But this format needs to be annihilated so it never comes back. Great try at something new and different. But not fun.

Path 4 is actually the easiest. I did mine with an r4 Steve (mines called gary tho). The biggest pain is the AV. Knull is easy with all the prefights, you just steal all his power and yay.
I haven't actually done the 2nd path Knull bc he was too hard and i died.
Just restart till you can solo that Venom. I did that

@DrZola Do you have Moleman ranked?

I was burning at least 1 revive per run against Sym Spidey until I watched a vid of Moleman clearing him.

Now I bring AA and MM. AA does the first 2 fights against Drax & Wolvie and then I start the Spidey fight with MM knowing I've got AA as backup if I mess up but if MM wasn't getting the solo then he wasn't leaving much health on Spidey for AA to finish off

I’m talking about the ranking Symbioid quests. I’ve just now gotten mine to rank 4 because it’s been too much of a slog for me

Was doing Sym Spidey with Apoc and AA horseman. He was a pain if I couldn’t get the neuro’s on him quick enough and cost a few revives but most runs were item less.

Well, the way I see it, I could choose to not do the quest and therefore not burn any items, which would be the same result as if they had not released this content because of the bugs. Or I could do the quest and choose to use or not use resources, and see what happens. The SQ has difficulty levels, so if the bugs are that bad you could just do an easier level and get whatever rewards are there.

@SpideyFunko I definitely agree on the Cosmic Eclipse side.
High difficulty.
You MUST have the right counters ranked.
RNG needs to be on your side.
Parry/Dex bug needs to behave.

Every day.
This is the worst side quest that I can recall. I dreaded doing it every time.

BTW: for people loaded with R3/4 6*'s, we know this is "easy content and that we need to just git gud."

BTW: I am not loaded with R3s and have been finishing the side quest daily with 5* champs

Agreed. It’s sucks this month, especially cosmic horror. Hyped up event an they made getting the awards very challenging when they advertised it as “worth it” from the **** we had to deal with in September.

Verdict: not worth it

Low ranked unawakened 5*, which is strange when I think about it. He’s terrific for it I’m certain.

AA and Venom tend to do fine, with Venom able to regen off Drax and Wolverine buffs. Seems like I always get one or two runs in a batch that things don’t line up.

Lots of shards. Hard to pass up though.
