Need help with Nimrod’s synergy

Does anyone know how to use Nimrod’s synergy that revives a knocked out robot?
I killed off Sentinel on first first fight in RoL and try to activate Nimrod’s synergy on the next fight but it doesn’t seem to work.

    Maybe if you defeat another robot? Wording is a bit odd

    That makes a lot more sense. The wording from the synergy makes it sound like robots get a free revive.
