It's strange. Hulkbuster most of the time when I do play him feels awesome. Amazing damage, satisfying playstyle, decent utility while whenever I play Sentinel he never really amazes. His damage in most situations is lackluster and his ramp up is annoying.
That being said I find myself using sentinel far more often in actually relevent content than hulk buster. In terms of utility the two aren't really comparable. Double immunities, armor break, easy access to shock, incinerate and healblock, insane tankiness, special spam, regen is just overall more than what hulk buster has to offer.
Sentinel also is very straight forward to play while there are a wide variety of nodes that can interfere with hulkbuster's damage cycle
The final nail is that hulkbuster is still really inconsistent to play optimally. I use hulkbuster every month in cav eq and his performance literally changes nearly every month. The timing on his heavy after his sp 2 some months is hitting 90-95% of the time while other times basically after every sp2 when you try to heavy you just get smacked in the face to the opponent times a perfect back dash and you whiff your heavy.
If hulkbuster's heavy connected 100% of the time he has the potential to be better than sentinel but right now he just isnt
I always go with champs that I find I play better with, and Sentinel is up there but Hulkbusters playstyle just doesn't work with me. I get wrecked. Sentinel is awesome tho. He's really easy to intercept with I find. He's got immunities, basically unlimited regeneration as long as the opponent lives if you can reach sp3s, unstoppable, DOT, heal block, armour break, he a tanky tin can... only thing he missing is power control.
His ramp up is a bit boring especially against cosmics but it's not that bad
I love Hulkbuster. He's such a great champ that just muscles through so much content. That said, he does have a tendency to whiff attack at the absolute worst times. That's super annoying.
However, I find Sentinel as a champion super annoying, so the win still goes to Hulkbuster.
Hulkbuster has more utility & damage, but Sentinel is more reliable bcoz of the playstyle that Hulkbuster demands If u can't play HB the way he's meant to be played, his damage is underwhelming, & if u play him the way he's meant to be played, there's always some chance of getting hit in the face Due to that reason I put both of these on the same spot as champions & enjoy playing with Sentinel more
On paper, Hulkbuster, but practically, Sentinel. Hulkbuster's unreliable heavy is his downfall, you just don't feel safe playing him. Sentinel is super tanky, has great damage, heal block/armour break and power drain resistance along with regen and special spam. So in gameplay, Sentinel does more than Unreliable-Heavy-Buster
Although for me, I hate Sentinel's clunky animations and can't stand playing him, sorry where-worm @Werewrym

Hate is a strong word. I actually think you can use Sentinel's "clunky" animations to your benefit. For example, have you ever had it where you dash back too early and get clipped? Sentinel's dash back is short enough where this hardly ever happens because you can recover from dashing back fast enough to dash back again. Also with his short dash back you can use it to punish the defender in some fights where most other champions cannot perform the same punish.
