I'm running the game on a Samsung A5 with up to date software and this happens a lot when i have active Wi-Fi but the game tells me there's a connection issue. This is not the only connectivity issue I've had, there's been the game restarting while I'm checking Line, just not getting past the second loading screen with an infinitely spinning wheel in the bottom right corner and the game crashing after a fight(this has become a rare occurrence now though) don't get me started on all the bugs in favour of kabam that still plague us even though they were brought to their attention a long time ago compared to when there's a bug in our favour.
