My Approach For A True Buff To Guillotine

I think it's safe to say that I speak for all of us that the Guillotine buff, which we put valuable time into selecting her to be the next buff candidate has been the biggest disappointment. Some people compare this with the Hood situation, and I agree to some extent. Except the difference is that you could actually see that Hood got better, just that they took away the one piece of utility that everyone used him for. Guillotine on the other hand... let's see what changed mainly.

-Less Damage
-Less Regeneration
-No More Nullify
+Unblockable Specials
+Bleed Immunity Work-Around
+Longer Spectre Debuff (-At the cost of damage output)

Even if the damage or regeneration wasn't reduced, I'd doubt that Guillotine would be that much better. She is still lacking in utility. Now I cannot penalise Kabam too much for reducing Guillotine's damage as literally being able to do 100% of the opponent's health in damage in one SP3 is pretty damn insane (given that the ramp-up from what I have heard is not that easy of a feat to accomplish). Now the regen on the other hand, it's pathetic. I really don't want to say it, but it's what it is. Guillotine's regeneration is pathetic. I remember seeing this one image of Guillotine beating a labyrinth fight and only regenning not even half of her health. Now my memory of that is rather hazy, I'd hate to be correct on that fact in all honesty.

So some of you might know that I do a few buff concepts for champions, some a lot more comprehensible than my other ones. But I've had a few ones that the people liked, so I think I have a solid chance of this working out for you guys as well as me.

Enough talk, here's how I think a true Guillotine buff would be like.

Soul Charges - Passive:

Each time either champion inflicts a damaging debuff or loses 2.5% of their health. Guillotine gains 1 Soul Charge. This is unaffected by Ability Accuracy. Soul Charges enhance Guillotine's abilities. Guillotine can have a Maximum of 30 Soul Charges at any given time.

Each Soul Charge grants +6% Attack Rating. Attack Rating increases gained this way cap at +120% Attack Rating.

When at 15+ Soul Charges, Guillotine becomes Unshackled. Special Attacks are Unblockable while Unshackled.

I've kept things mostly the same, I've nerfed the attack increase to make way for permanent Soul charges which will be the core of Guillotine's kit which will make way for some bigger improvements.

La Fleur Du Mal - All Attacks:

Critical Hits have a 55% chance to inflict a Bleed Debuff dealing 75% of Guillotine's base attack as direct damage over 4 seconds. If the opponent is Bleed Immune, inflict a matching Rupture debuff instead.

Medium Attacks have +25% Bleed and Rupture Ability Accuracy and cannot miss the opponent.

Light Attacks have a 45% chance to Nullify a buff on the opponent, this chance increases by +10% for each Soul Charge that Guillotine has.

To make Soul Charge gain a bit smoother, I've increased the AA of Bleed debuffs considering that a lot more bleed debuffs are going to be thrown around. I have also added the bonus utility of nullification to Guilly's kit, something she has missed since her changes. Oh yeah, she also has some new utility in that she cannot miss on Medium Attacks too.

Heavy Attacks:

This attack inflicts a Bleed Curse debuff on the opponent lasting 10 seconds. Any opponent that suffers from Bleed Curse is inflicted with one of Guillotine's personal bleeds each time they are struck by a Special Attack.

Still the same.

Special Attacks:

If Guillotine launches a Special Attack while Unshackled, consume 55% of Guillotine's active Soul Charges. Each Soul Charge consumed this way inflicts instant damage on to the opponent equal to 6% of Guillotine's Attack. This will not trigger if Guillotine is suffering from 2 unique non-damaging debuffs.

This is replacing Soul Link to be an offensive as well as a defensive ability. This is here to keep the Soul Charges in check as well as giving something back in return.

Special 1:

When triggering this Special Attack, Guillotine has a 100% chance to gain a Life Steal passive lasting 8 seconds. Guillotine regenerates 45% of all damage dealt on the opponent while it is active.

If Guillotine is Unshackled, Soul Charges will not be consumed when launching this Special Attack.

This is where you will get your long missed Regeneration as well as be able to ramp up Soul Charges quick. Life Steal will grant you a sizable chunk of health in return for some good damage. Also, you will not be penalised by Unshackled if you just want to get your health back up.

Special 2:

Final hit has a 100% chance to inflict a Spectre debuff on the opponent, reducing the opponent's Regeneration Rate by -200% for 20 seconds.

If Guillotine is Unshackled, Guillotine inflicts a Wither debuff on the opponent reducing their Power Gain by -125% for 20 seconds when triggering the Special Attack.

I haven't changed the core aspect of this Special Attack, I just made it a bit more juicy. Guillotine will now invert Power Gain as well as Regeneration while Unshackled at an increased duration.

Special 3:

Guillotine deals a burst of Physical Damage equal to 10% of her attack for each Soul Charge that she has active. Each Soul above 15 deals a burst equal to 40% of her attack for each Soul Charge as well.

If Guillotine is Unshackled, Guillotine gains a non-stacking Precision passive increasing her Critical Rating by +2000 for 25 seconds. Guillotine consumes the rest of her Soul Charges.

Now, if you really want some damage. The SP3 will give you that. The SP3 can deal up to a burst of 600% of Guillotine's attack as damage once at max Soul Charges. Now that is what I'd consider damage being restored to Guillotine. Once the big burst has been used, Guillotine can go straight back into ramp up with a Precision buff for some more bleeds.

Signature Ability: Insatiable Thirst

Guillotine's Regeneration Rate cannot be reduced below -100%.

Guillotine's Regeneration Rate is increased by +10% - +35% while the opponent suffers from a Bleed Curse debuff.

Some more sustainability.

Now, let's sum these core aspects up by comparing my Guillotine to Kabam's Guillotine.

Old Guillotine:

-Regeneration
-Bleed
-Unblockable Special Attacks
-Spectre Debuff
-Regeneration
-Rupture
-Pain Link

New Guillotine:

-Improved Regeneration
-Improved Bleed
-Unblockable Special Attacks
-Spectre Debuff
-Regeneration
-Rupture
-Miss Countering on Medium Attacks
-Nullify
-Instant Burst on Special Attacks
-Wither
-Huge SP3 Burst Damage
-Regeneration Rate cannot be inverted

Some views might differ on this buff idea, but I think that it will at least make players happy to pulls a Guillotine, like Kabam likely intended for her changes to result in doing. Now, I'm tired and imma go get some shut eye. Goodnight guys.

It doesn't even need to be that complicated. Revert her old abilities, add her main synergy bonuses into her base kit, add a piece of utiltiy on sp1.

That's literally all she needs, people don't understand how insane she was with 2 synergy partners pre-buff

actually i think for sp3 she could use 1% per soul instead of 2% and keeping that precision aswell. that could make her sp3 more useful

Goodnight guys.

    really good buff.
    Pls kabam hire him pls!
sure, me and @Magrailothos can be cubicle buddies
    Sounds good!

I like the build. The Wither debuff and Nullify gives her a nice bit of much-needed utility. Maybe Nullify ought to consume souls? Or be a bit RNG-related.

Also the Soul Consumption for burst damage on SP2/SP3 is cool.

Is the resistance to regeneration rate reduction meant to be -100%? Is is that minus sign actually just a dash?

Very fun and looks more than playable.

The resistance there means that her regeneration cannot be inverted. I wrote in the same you'd see it on Sersi's kit iirc.

    Also, thank you so much.
