I’d agree but I feel like they’re being treated like 6* shards when they’re not cause you gotta think 50k mythic shards = 1 6* basic in likely value I love chance based crystals but they could let even just the cavs open 1 a month which would mean about 2 extra 6* champs in a whole year so they could give some more shards out for sure
- It’s fine that lower tier players could have some. A Cavalier can be not far from a TB in terms of roster (of course except the absolute elite of the game...). And if an Uncollected can reach the shards, he could progress a bit easier in the game.
- With more than 120 5* champions, I do not expect good things from 5* crystals anymore, except iso and 6* shards. So that’s positive to have a 20% rate for a 6*.
- It is also positive to have another crystal that does not contain 3* and 4* (the 4* are only useful for iso).
- But in my humble opinion, the first problem is that it will take a long moment to get 10k shards and open 1 crystal without buying offers.
- The second problem is that these offers are too expensive for the high rate of a 5*. So little success on the sale.
- The third problem is that, as designed, the mythic crystal target is the recent/young Cav and not the TB and veteran Cav who prefer to focus (quite exclusively) on 6*. This has also an impact on the sale.
Personally, no unit for an offer that mainly contains a mythic crystal or mythic shards.
By the way, a suggestion to Kabam : Why not to replace the 5* shards by mythic shards in some rewards of the game? With the trend on 6*, it would make sense.
Currently it's much easier to form many 6* crystals compared to forming 1 mythic crystal & similarly easier to form many 5* crystals than legendary ones....this doesn't make any sense to me & defeats the purpose of these crystals The argument that the crystals are new doesn't seem valid to me bcoz it's what inside the crystals that matters & not when the crystal comes to the game
As someone who has been Thronebreaker for six months, I don't find them particularly appealing as a rare item but still see some potential going forward. Slowly building up a crystal over several months only to most likely pull a 5* in the end just doesn't get my gears turning, but if they end up replacing Cavalier crystals down the line I'm game. I'm not talking about replacing them in the regular store for units, but rather as monthly rewards just like we are getting these Sinister Six Cavalier crystals this month.
I don't anticipate that we'll ever get 20+ Mythic crystals any one month, but they could potentially be used as a new tier. Let's say you can spend 2000 shards on a Grandmaster crystal, 4000 on a Cavalier crystal, 8000 on a Legendary crystal, and finally 10,000 shards on a Mythic crystal. That could be cool.
But as it stands, they mostly feel like a (most likely) 5* crystal that's rarer than a 6* crystal. The guaranteed 5* and small chance to pull a 6* would have been exciting back when I was Cavalier, but now that I'm Thronebreaker and "our" content has moved on to 6*s, there's nothing especially enticing about popping them. Especially not after months of build-up.
I think it's an idea that would have been great in 2018/19 but is out of step with how the game is now for most players Cav and above.
Drip feeding the shards in a manner that appears to value them over 6* shards is just weird and offering them in a daily card (in place of the better valued 6* card with 10 Cav Nexus as opposed to the 5 in that offer) is just stupid.
The only way I could see them becoming semi-relevant to people with a developed roster is if they are offered in the crystal store for units as a step up from featured Cavs (which would cause other problems)

Exactly my thoughts, I usually open around 2 6*s a month, so at the moment it hasn’t been too impactful and won’t be until they tune the shard amounts up.
Yeah, I mean its not terrible, but Im not going to expect a 20% 6* champ out of these, which is why I never buy those 20% chance offers in the store. thats still 80% chance of a 5*, and even if i got lucky on the 20%, it sometimes includes a champ I have a max signature level at 6* and rather not chance it.
If they didn't treat the shards as being 6* shards and put them out closer to the rate of 5* shards I might care about them more. As is its basically building up a 5* crystal over months which is just silly. Put them out as a higher tier cav crystal as has been said or up the shards to one or two crystals a month and I like them a bit more. Then factor in my rng luck and they're as valuable as 5* shards to me minus the ability to target featured champs.
Don’t really see the point in them with the way they’re treating the shards as if they’re considerably more valuable than 6* shards. Though to be clear, I don’t want other rewards taken away just to increase how many of these shards we get, I just think they should be considered about as rare as 5* shards for high level players
I think Kabam, or their marketing team, is placing a much higher value on the crystals than players are (at least Thronebreakers). Same happened with the crystals with a 20% at a 5*. Kabam just seems to be behind by about 6 months.

I'm happy but yeah the shards are very hard to come by right now. It's not like it's a guaranteed 6* champ, we all know it'll be a 5* 95% of the time.
I honestly don't care about 5* anymore, maybe just the new ones.
But Kabam is being Stingy with them.
You can get Guranteed 6* Crystals Shards in abundance compared to Mythic Crystal Shards which have only 20% To get a 6*

But i would go for 6 star shards or cavs all day over mythic
