Why doesn’t soul boost work against mephisto?

I knew mephisto is buggy as hell. Someone told me to use the fierce soul boost which does life steal. They said that’s what it’s there for. Great! So I use the boost when I got to captain America and it worked great. However, when I fought mephisto. Nothing! I keep dying and having to use revives. Anyone else?

The soul boost with 75% is the Best. Cuz you Dont have to Look at the timer.
You just need a 5* r4 or 4* r5 with High health.
Hulk, rulk, Rhino
X23 works pretty well.
