Opponents Unaffected by Attacks

For the past two/three weeks I have been experiencing an issue where an opponent will clearly begin his special after I have hit him, but my strike will be negated, the opponent is not affected at all, advancing into his special without a hesitation. This leaves me no opportunity to block/dodge the special. This has cost me health in AW, AQ and Events. Please fix!!!!!
