Moon Knight buff idea

New show coming out, new buff idea. This one is going to be a fun one.

Moon Knight

Powers of the moon - passive

As the cycle of the moon changes so do moon knights abilities, gaining different traits at different times.

Full moon

At a full moon Moon Knights mystical powers are at their strongest, granting him the following effects

- +35% attack
- +15% block penetration
- +20% energy resistance

In the moons light Moon Knight sees all, and cannot miss attacks

During a Full moon Moon knights special attacks are blessed by its magical light gaining the following effects

Special attack 1

Each of his throwing blades is mystically embued, nullifying 1 buff each and granting +20% of a bar of power for each buff nullified. For each buff nullifed a bleed is inflicted dealing +35% of base attack over 10 seconds.

Special attack 2

Moon Knights staff shines as bright as the moon nullifying 1 buff each hit and granting a Mystic Displacement charge for each buff nullified (Max Stacks 5)

The special 2 removes all Mystic Displacement charges at the start and each charge grants +50% special attack damage for the whole attack.

(This means that you can gain 3 from each special 2 and then use that for your next special 2, meaning you can always have 3 up)

Special attack 3

Nullifies all buffs on the opponent and grants +10% power for each buff nullified max 50%.
Grants +5 Mystic Dispersion charges.

New Moon

Whilst not in the moons light moon knight uses his physical prowess to overpower his enemies, granting him the following effects.

- +35% crit rate
- +50% crit damage rating
- +20% physical resistance

In the darkness moon knight also gains a +10% chance to evade any incoming attacks, this will not trigger when blocking an attack. This chance increases by a flat 5% for every debuff on the opponent.

In darkness Moon Knights altered fighting style grants his basic attacks the following effects.

Medium attacks

Brutal strength breaks his opponents apart, applying a disorient debuff reducing defensive ability accuracy by 15% and block proficiency by 50% for 10 seconds. Max stacks 5

Light attacks

Precise strikes cause lacerations in the opponent, granting critical hits a 100% chance to bleed the opponent dealing 25% of base attack over 5 seconds.

Heavy attacks

Moon Knights lethal kicks hit hard, weakening his opponents and applying a slow debuff reducing evade and unstoppable ability accuracy by 100% for 15 seconds.

Waxing moon

The moons light increases and Moon knights powers do so as well, gaining some magical powers and channeling them through his basic attacks. He also gains the following effects:

- +15% attack rating
- +25% crit rating
- +50% crit damage rating

Medium attacks

Medium attacks nullify a buff on the opponent, granting +10% of a bar of power for each buff nullified and bleeding them for 15% of base attack over 5 seconds

Light attacks

Light attacks have a 25% chance of granting an indefinite passive mystical displacement, max stacks 5.

Heavy attacks

Each Mystcial displacement grants +25% damage on heavy attacks. If Moon Knight has 5 mystcial displacements charging heavy attack passively stuns the opponent for 0.6 seconds.

Waning moon

Moon knights mystical abilities disperse, and so Moon Knight has to use his usually magical weapons as fighting instruments. He also gains the following effects:

- +35% physical resistance
- +35% energy resistance
- +20% block penetration

Special attack 1

Throwing blade hits are guaranteed crits and place critical bleeds on the opponent, dealing 50% of base attack for 15 seconds and scaling with critical damage rating. These bleeds are paused for 5 seconds on each of the physical hits of the special attack and 1st medium attacks.

Special attack 2

Moon knight exploits the open wounds of his opponent, at the start of the special attack consume all bleeds on the opponent and grant +15% special attack damage for each bleed consumed max stacks 20.

Special attack 3

Moon knight uses every weapon in his arsenal, placing a bleed on the opponent for every hit on the combo meter, max stacks 10. Each bleed deals 10% of attack over 20 seconds and is paused by 1st medium attacks for 5 seconds.

Signature ability - moon gods wrath

During Full and Waning moons bleeding opponents grant +2.5 - 7.5% of a bar of power every second

During New and waxing moons debuff potency is increased by +25 - 75%. Additionally ability accuracy is increased by a flat 45%





Notes

I think this would be an interesting buff, the exact numbers and abilities aren’t the most relevant, the main part is the different playstyles and focuses of Moon Knight depending on the lunar cycle, I don’t think the idea is terrible, he can have damage and utility in all phases however how to get it and what it is exactly varies. As the lunar cycle is more or less monthly it would also give players of moon knight the ability to plan out different EQ or SQ lanes. It could be annoying knowing a champ can do the lane but has to wait 2 weeks, however he wouldn’t be a general use champ like Warlock or Hercules, but fill more of a niche/fun option for certain lanes. The aim of buffs shouldn’t be to make a broken OP champ. Just to make a champion more fun and useable, which is what this idea hopes to achieve.
