No champ ban or defense tactics?

We are tier 5. There's no option for choosing defense tactics or banning champs. 2 wars ago, we had both. Did something change?

Check your map to see if path 9 is section 1 is biohazard. If it is, then you are playing a tier 6 map.

I didn't know that's a thing? We can be tier 5 playing a tier 6 map...?

Yes, your opponent is tier 6 and the games chooses at random what level map the both of you will play. But you will still get your tier 5 multiplier.

Check the paths though as some are very different from tier 5.
