Regardless of how good/bad they are, I could not care less about either of these characters. It blows my mind that we're getting Misty before some other Marvel characters.
Some of us grew up reading Misty Knight comics. So I'm very excited. To each his own. π
I will say, I donβt know how theyβll play BUT the animations are awesome - like always.
Sup Fluffy! βοΈ And I agree. It's too early to tell without hands-on experience in the proper mastery setups and rotations... but I like the utility potential so far.

I want Sam because, you know:
Captain America
I'm hoping that they are both fun to play. Don't mind if they aren't BGT but want them both to be usable in general content at least.
Since we apparently haven't seen all of Misty's synergies, I'm hoping that there's some really good/effective ones for the Defenders. If there isn't it'll be a real missed opportunity and kill a bit of my enthusiasm.
Trying to keep it on topic here, my thoughts on them following the deep dive are as follows:
Sam - Probably god tier. Easy access to physical damage and a way around crit based regen (like sinister) or nodes, very similar to Guardian. His sp2 seems to have low damage for a 6* r3, but I'm willing to bet that it will be very useful for questing. It seems like he's a questing level champ, good for overall content rather than something specific such as Abyss, Variant, etc.
He has good locked on access, especially on defense, animations are fantastic as always, his synergies look pretty damn good, and since his damage isn't DOT based, I think its very likely he will excel at doing high damage in almost every champ he encounters, especially mutants. I quite like his autoblock ability too, that's gonna be a saving grace, similar to Peni.
Misty - Also god tier. Easy access to lots of buffs based on charge level, similar to Sersi and Ikaris, and provides lots of utility in her attacks. Special 3, followed up by any special with those buffs active will probably kill anyone who survived any other attacks before it. Again, like sam, seems like a champ thats good for basic encounters and covers general content in the game, rather than JUST endgame content. Plus, while she has no immunities, she has a max 33% chance to just shrug off literally any debuff she gets, so thats a pretty good make up imo, especially since most DoT debuffs won't hit you anyways if you evade, dex, block, etc. outside of nodes or unblockable specials, etc.
Overall, I'm excited for these 2. They seem strong in many areas, not that weak in lots, outside of expected areas, and like fun champs to come to the game without shaking up the meta TOO much.
The worst thing abt tech captain america is that his locked-on cant even reduce ability accuracy like the skill one...so the vibranium made the goggles and flight suit worse off than b4?
I was hoping while its similar to the skill one.. jus make every critical hit with the shield triggers concussion, reducing ability accuracy by x% for x seconds. Every well-timed block triggers armor break reducing base armor by x for x seconds.

.... because if they did that then the while point of still having the OG skill falcon in the would be pointless. Why bother ranking the skill one if there's a tech version that can do the same and more?
Anyon, on the topic of the thread, I am definitely going to chase Sam but for a very specific synergy: CAIW. Adding the ability to Stagger can potentially make CAIW even more god tier than he already is.
Just imagine a max sig CAIW in a team with Sam, Mr. F. and Dock Ock or Shehulk and the cosmic (or skill) of your choice. A single parry heavy will put weakness, petrify, stagger, armor break and 3 power stings.... just imagine that...the stagger makes all the difference because most nodes that punish debuffs they do so by countering them with a power gain or regen or whatever, but the stagger will either deny that from happening or if the regen is passive, then it will reverse it with despair mastery just in one single parry heavy. Even in normal circumstances for everyday questing and such , giving stagger to such a powerhouse champ as CAIW is just too juicy, its like turning him into a pseudo mystic. That is also why CGR awakened ability is also so good , it turns a cosmic into a pseudo mystic .

Who the hell is misty knight and why does she hit harder than a deity?
Sam seems pretty damn cool for a lot of nodes and small mechanics. Definitely one to target.
