Increase Friends Limit

The limit of 50 friends is way too few and should be increased, either for everyone or as a function of level or number of years playing the game. Gaining 25-50 extra "friend slots" for every year of game play feels like a great way to incentivize people to continue playing.

If you're someone who frequently plays modes of game play like Incursions, it's quite easy to end up playing with someone random who ends up with a good player and a decent, courteous person as well. You may want to add them as a friend for future Incursion play or even network for future alliance opportunities as well. But if you're already at the 50 limit, you're forced to remove an existing friend if you want to capitalize on a memorable round of Incursions.

Another important reason is sentimental. As someone who has been playing for the last 7 years, I've made some good friends with the game. Some of these people are former alliance mates that no longer play the game or even have passed away in real life but I would like to remain friends with their accounts out of memory. It's nice to go back and relive those former times. A higher friend limit allows me to continue to add new people and make new friends without being forced to remove older friends that would otherwise make the game more sticky.

If there is a concern of an additional strain on servers due to increased friends limit, it could be added as a function of level or years playing which serves to reward longer playing, more active players. It could also require "unlocking" or purchase via in-game resources or units or perhaps be a part of Sigil. Another idea could be a notion of active players and inactive players list within friends list where the latter gets used for "friends" who have no logged in for greater than a year and functionality is limited (no sending message..etc).

The social aspects of this game is one of the big things that make it so sticky so forcing older, active players to choose between adding new friends or removing older ones, some which may be kept around out of memory, makes little sense. It's c-blocking yourself by preventing players from wanting to keep playing the game. As mentioned, I'm forced to remove former alliance mates, some of which have unfortunately passed away. I'm removing reasons that would tie me to the game.
