Time for a Tag System Renovation

Either stop using the tag system entirely, or fix it. I lean towards fixing it, but if that isn’t an option because of bandwidth, then just do away with it.

Some quick suggestions:

1. Alphabetize each category.
2. Add an “or” function.
3. Add tags referenced in game that aren’t actually on profiles (example: “Canadian”).
4. Get rid of the cheesy Deadpool tags. They were cute once. Not anymore.

There are probably more, but if you want a giant round of applause with the next changelog, these are a great start.

As it currently stands, the tag system looks like so many things in game: great concept, not fully executed, partly functional. The team should want to do better and, frankly, players (and payers) deserve better.

Right. But if it’s just adding an “or” function that doesn’t address the entirety of the issue. The tag system needs a full spring cleaning. Months like this with new Carinas and EQ reliant on it only make it more of an eyesore.

I’m not a programmer, but this doesn’t seem to be a feature that is anywhere near the game engine and fight mechanics. I’m betting there are even people on the forums who could have knocked something like this out in short order. What has been lacking is motivation.

Thing is, allowing class based as well as tags for meq allows them to essentially push this towards the bottom of the priority list because it isn't an urgent issue. I don't even know if the path based cross-fight acquisition bug has been fixed yet

The biggest issue with the tag system is that we’re missing an OR function so I think this is a pretty big step in the right direction, it is pretty weird that there is no Canada tag in game but don’t think there are any other missing, we don’t really need it alphabetised because there is a search function and yeah the goldpool and platpool tags are pretty annoying

But is this really that hard to do? Should have been done already. We will see if the April promise holds. Hoping…

Would be cool if there was an option to filter champs for specific missions, like the #ThanosArmy on the EQ.
So if there are nodes in the quest with specific tags attached you should be able to filter them in the champ selection screen.

Also for the Carina challenges #Dance Off, or #Inuman Stamina, etc...

And i think it would be cool to have AND function as well as OR function to select

Yeah i know, i just meant a feature to have a button to automatically filter all the tags that are affected in the specific quest, in the case of #thanosarmy this wasn't the only tag, i think there was #illuminati and a third one as well...so a button which filters the quest specific tag

And for the Carina challenges, yeah they were bad examples, but there is also #O Canada, and there isn't even a tag for canadian in the filter options. this would just be a QOL change to go to the Carina challenges and click on one of them and automatically get to the pre-quest screen with a filtered champion list. So if i click on the Carina challenge "O Canada" it brings me to LOL champ selection screen with only the filtered canada 4 star champs...

Since those tags should be a qol improvement this would be awesome,

Same with rank up gems, they should work like awakening gems or sig stones, click on them and it shows you the champs you can use them on...
