Why is the penalty on the players side?

Hi,
Today the game crashed while playing in AW. I was taking on the boss, quite conveniently my connection was lost. My wifi and cellular data is in top notch thus the fault obviously is not on my end. The 'lost' fight ends up giving the boss no damage and possibly a win while my champ's health is reduced to half.
Question: This is a game stability issue which should be stable from the developers hours of hard work. Yet despite your best effort, the game crashes. Thus as it is not the players job to make the game stable neither is it their fault when it crashes or when the connection is suddenly lost, why are they penalized with half their hp gone?
Seriously, what are we doing here? Rolling out sub par products and charging people for the damages?

While I understand the problem of players exploiting it. Perhaps starting the match with the hp of both parties to be similar to when the "lost" match crashed would be fairer. In a way, the game is exploiting the players, having them either buy potions or spend units to get the potions.
Quite simply, this is really disappointing.
Sadly there is no way for the game to set you back to the health you were, that's why it used to heal you up to full and now halfway
