Karnak L1

I’ve been playing with Karnak lately after getting Medusa from a featured pull and I’ve noticed anytime I use his L1 in mid combo or just parry then L1 he does the punch like normal but while he is doing his pose the enemy AI is already recovered and knocking him around. If he dosnt have time to do his pose to get the buff then why give him the animation?

    don't wait till he finishes the pose, attack right after his elbow hit.
