Kicked out of Trial of Madness

I'm still a bit confused by the side quest this month, and to be honest based on the rewards and my time constraints I decided I would just forgo most of it and just focus on defeating legendary dormammu 5 times for the TB objective. I saw time was expiring for the dormammu quest this week, unsure whether I'm able to skip and fight him twice the following week I decided to join before time since we typically get 1 hour to complete an expired active quest. However at 10 AM PST I got kicked out of the quest... does this mean I've just forfeit the TB objective of the month? Does anyone understand this SQ?
