EOP - Ikaris Burst Damage from SP1

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find the details from the description of Ikaris abilities or Node.

Could anyone else help explain why his SP1 does burst damage (with no contact made).

At 7 energise he does damage to non mystics whenever his power is reduced for any reason, including throwing specials

Finally answers. So need to remove buffs, not use light attacks or be mystic.

Mystics are fine to use.
