The problem that I believe exists with this technology is server clutter. We know that Kabam’s servers get bogged down when there are too many types of crystals existing in game. It’s why they periodically go through and automatically open old crystal types that players might be holding onto. The Wish Crystal creates an exponential leap in the difficulty of that problem.
There are countless different possible iterations of the Wish Crystal, and the odds of any two players populating the same 30 champions are infinitesimally small. Which means we’re talking about creating thousands upon thousands of new types of crystals for the game to keep track of out of thin air. If you think you have gameplay issues now, you can’t imagine the kind of havoc that would wreak.
They may be working towards a solution to this problem, or it may not be a problem at all. But this is my guess based on the information we have available.
When it comes to voting, champions have to be in the standard pool already. Have half the champions come from the last 18 months and the other half everything older than that. Also champions can’t be in consecutive Community Wish Crystals so there’s some variety.
so when Mankind makes it to Proxima or Alpha Centauri I guess.
