Another "cents"less dilemma

Why is gold such an issue in this game. I'm a moderate arena grinder I will hit the 12 million cap in arenas pretty frequently and I am always a rank up /level up away from zero gold. Then sell iso to get more gold and in turn run out of iso. I don't spend for cav crystals. I 100% uncollected side events and do story content. But I'm always running out of one or both items. Why does iso cost gold to use. You get the required catalysts pop the champ to dupe the champ and are rewarded with paying out your ears in gold to rank the champs. Makes zero sense. Anyone else feel the same?
