Colossus without synergies

I just got a colossus. I can take him up to sig 170 but I can't use synergies as I don't have any of his synergies member including omega or Emma and I also don't have apoc. Shall I rank him up or not. Also what are his drawbacks.
And shall I rank up unduped knull before him or later.

Colossus doesn't need his synergies to be an excellent champ, they just enhance him.

And I can't say anything about Knull, I don't have him.
