BattleGrounds over AW

I matched up in bg against an alliance mate and I thought that's pretty cool. He got me 2-1. But what if you could match up against your alliance mates via invite (incursion style)? - or match up against an alliance like AW- but instead of a map it's a series of battle grounds. Just a thought.

They've said previously that, while the "main" version is the focus at the moment, there will eventually come an option to fight alliance mates/people on your friend list. I think the main priority right now should just be to get it out in a stable state (without any cheating), but it would be cool to expand on things down the line.

That said, I kind of like that it's not tied to my alliance since one of the cons of being in a very diverse alliance (progression-wise) as an endgame player is that I'm usually held back from the top-tier AW and AQ content by people who through no fault of their own just can't keep up with where I could potentially be in the game. That's a choice I've made and I'm cool with it since I like my alliance and prefer their company over the ability to run higher AQ maps and higher seasonal ranks in AW - but with BG, I can be as good as I can personally be. I'm not held back by anything but my own skill. So while I can see some value in an alliance vs alliance BG, that also kind of defeats the purpose of BG (or at least why I enjoy it so much).
