I’ve never understood this. It’s like being in a competition with thousands of competitors where all scores are private and you are given a position and if you you want to know other scores you have to ask around. It’s the same with rank rewards for events as well.

Probably to avoid unhealthy competition. If everyone knows the score, then there may be more competition, and so the number gets higher and higher. Does that make sense?
