Does herc need recoil masteries to be OP?

Hercules is my white whale. Don’t and likely won’t ever run suicides (they are unlocked). Been reading a lot about him and needing DE/LC. Does he move down a tier without or just as much the Cosmic top champ?

Nope. Very few champs “need” recoil tree(omega does and Diablo becomes much better with it). Herc is not one of those. Only thing you’ll lose is a small but nifty permanent regen

I’ve actually had both, and feel in situations where you’re not already taking external DoT. It’s helpful to have the extra 1 health after immortality expires and be able to start the next fight with 1 health and play until error for immortality. Gives more uptime so for that I don’t like suicides on him.

????? If you have suicides and play perfectly then you'll gain couple percent of health from LC

I'm not sure what you're saying. With his slight poison and bleed damage reduction his will power will heal you. Not a ton. But certainly a few percent a fight and can be a lot more. On map8 I've screwed up in section 1 and went into immortality but because of willpower been back to 50% or more health by the time I've fought the boss.

He doesn’t ‘need’ suicides, but he becomes an absolute powerhouse with them. I’ve ran him with and without for a considerable amount of time, and I’d always chose to use them with him given the choice.
