Shang-Chi Slow bug

I’m currently exploring act 6.1.5 and am fighting the night crawler in this story quest. I’m trying to apply my slow with Shang chi but it’s not working. Is there some kind of interaction here I am missing? Or is this a bug? I would greatly appreciate some help from anyone that knows better!!

    Slow doesn't apply against Class Disadvantage. Skill champions can't slow Mutants, Mutants can't slow Tech, etc.

    Take Falcon if you can. its redwing's lock ability work well against every class
