New expert proving grounds AI is all messed up

Something is wrong with the AI in this new quest. Seriously - they just stand there and don't attack and don't use any specials. It's like you're fighting round 1 of the arena. This used to be a semi-engaging quest - now it's boring and tedious as can be. While I'm grateful it's been converted to a daily quest, its current incarnation is now a mind numbing chore. I hope this was not intended. Surely this must be a bug?

    Yes, it's weird, but this quest always was. It behaves different from other quests, and it seems to be more prone to bugs.

    Um "What is wrong with me?" ... because I play this game to have fun and not mindlessly just tap on the screen? I want challenging fights not more pointless grind. I want Expert Proving Grounds to offer the same level of game play it did before. There's nothing "Expert" about this new version at all and it's annoying. It's just yet another stupid task now. I stopped grinding it. I don't really care about getting more shards if I'm not having fun. The game shouldn't feel like a job.
