Moleman not purify poison in Legendary SQ in the first fight

Today, doing the legendary sidequest, Moleman wasn't shrugging off the poison recoil tree debuff (I only run poison).
This was in the very first fight only. I couldn't understand why, so I used him for the next 3 fights and the poison disappeared as soon as I started playing...

Is this a bug or am I missing something in the nodes?

    Hey mate...yes I was fighting Cyclops...did I miss something?
