Battlegrounds MASTERY loadouts not free/ for gold?

I thought what they have conveyed was mastery loadouts for battlegrounds was free or for gold( there was no mention of reloading them with units usage)
Is this a bug or "usual working as intended" thing?

This seems like a case where Kabam can now say "we technically didn't say the decks were free to unlock, we only said switching mastery loadouts were free". But everyone can see that the text never mentions anything about the decks themselves costing units to unlock and are heavily implied to be free. It probably isn't on purpose, as what's the point hiding the truth for a few days, but communication should be better than this IMO.

The price would be reasonable if the loadout wasn't exclusive to battlegrounds.

Surprised they didn't included this on the announcement. It was a good opportunity since it was a mess, this wouldn't be near the biggest problem

Well, I’m disappointed. I thought I would be able to build the mastery tree inside battlegrounds. Now it turns out that you can only apply your current game wide mastery. Meaning that any change will cost units.
Also thought that decks would be free to add.
I haven’t tried BG up till now and it looks like I never will.

As soon as they used the term “unlock” decks in the latest BG announcement it was clear they planned to make it a cost. Unfortunate

They made "BATTLEGROUNDS" for payers!
Everything about this mode is to buy items(for either units or tokens) to play & unlock events (solo & alliance).
