Battlegrounds has sound although sound is off in settings?

Why do the sound effects in battlegrounds override the game settings that are turned off?

Yeah. As someone who has the game on mute, it was a shocker. Good thing i wasn't in class when it happened.

I was just coming to post this but figured I'd do a quick search first. Unfortunate to see this was pointed out over a month ago with no update.

Same experience here, on iphone.

Sounds is all off so I can listen to my own background music. Battleground sounds can be heard through my headphones. I don’t hear the BG sounds through the phone speakers, only if headphones are connected. That is probably cause my phone is on vibrate.
