Horsemen Buff disappears after upgrading with ISO-8

This has happened to me twice, so I figured I'd post here and ask if anyone else has same issue or if they can replicate.
Seems that every time I have the Horsemen buff on a champ in AQ and I upgrade that champ with iso-8, I lose the buff.
Not sure if it's a general glitch or situational, but lmk if more specific details are needed re: champs, map, lane etc.
