Is sandbagging in BG really banned

Not a big player and not really competing in BGs but I recently got matched against someone that was sandbagging. To begin with on the ban screen I was just a bit confused then realized what was happening so when the 2* options were shown in the champ selections I took a screenshot and raised a ticket. Frankly the response was appalling, all I got told was that Kabam is aware of the sandbagging situation and actively working on solutions and then pointed me to the post about it. I've had a look at the other player since and nothing seems to have happened to them so what's the point? No point saying they are actively working on solutions if when shown someone that is cheating with times of the fight nothing appears to happen.

Not looking to get anything changed, just highlighting this and the duplicitous behaviour from Kabam.

They are working on ways of preventing it, they qualified it as unsportsmanlike. But it’s not technically cheating. All Kabam has to do is fix their matchmaking system. Problem solved

They clearly dont see any issues with their matchmaking as hundreds of people have reported issues with it but they haven't even acknowledged... as per usual

Well they mention it in one of the pinned posts. Hard to see as there are about 100 of them.

The reason why sandbagging isn't a bannable offense is because it is entirely subjective as to where the line is for what sandbagging is. Yes, it's obvious when someone has 10 2 Stars in there deck but what about 4 Star R5s or 5 Star R3s. I'm Paragon, 100% legitimately contending in BGs and I have an 5 Star R3 Ebony Maw in my deck this week in Gladiator Circuit. Because, imo, he deserves the spot over some other 6 Star R3s. So since the line is blurry, the solution isn't to "ban" sandbagging, it's to remove all of it's benefit so that no one needs to feel guilty about adding a potentially under ranked champ to their deck if they think it will help.

It is not cheating, it is a tactic, since everyone has access to it... And since so many do it, I chose to do it myself... In the end, I don't have more than 25 viable champs for BG anyways...

However, it is risky... I have won some matches where the opponent was forced to choose three 2* champs into their team, so that only left them with five strong champs.

Result: Me just winning a single fight resulted in winning the whole match.

All in all, I have no issue with sandbaggers. But yes, I would also appreciate it if Kabam would change the matchmaking in the next season so that sandbagging would not grant any benefits anymore. Maybe matchmaking by prestige?

It's not cheating and not banable.

Why cant Kabam just put a restriction that 1-3 star champions not allowed in battlegrounds. There is anyways a minimum uncollected requirement to unlock meaning everyone will have 30 4*s in their roster and if they sandbag with 4*s it will not have the desired effect.

If star restriction can be placed on act 6, why not battlegrounds?

Even then: Putting in 10 4* champs at rank 1 level 1 wouldn't be hard...

It isn't something they're likely going to ban over. They're looking at ways to prevent it. Having said that, it is not something that's within the realm of fair play. Personally I call that cheating. Call it what you like. It doesn't leave a good taste in the mouth either way. A tactic is only benign when it's within the realm of a fair game. Taking advantage of the Matchmaking to ambush lower Players isn't a fair game.
