battlegrounds season ending early compensation

i dont know why but i never got compensation for bg ending sooner. any explanation to how this is possible. i know its not much people got but i think its sad i didnt get anything at all. i mean i probably missed out on about 2k 6* shards if it wasnt for bg ending early. wamted to jump in for a couple matches but it was already gone. is this because im free to play?
