Alliance War Season 39 Changelog (Updated December 08, 1:43 PST)

Welcome to another season of Alliance War! This season we’re seeing a new Defence Tactic for all you challengers out there, and a new and improved Path 7 coming in to replace the old Power Control Lane in AVA. Skill Defenders now have a bespoke home they can be seated in! Without further ado, let’s get to what the updates look like!

Auto-Enlist
Our Engineers have been cooking up tons of Quality of Life updates we’re hoping to roll out over the coming seasons, the first of many being Auto-Enlist. Officers will find a handy new button in the war-room letting them enable an automatic entrance into enlistment! We hope to see more of you than ever battling it out in the battle-realm.

Introducing: PLANETARY ENDURANCE!
Planetary Endurance
#Planetary Endurace Defenders are immune to the effects of Nullify and Stagger. Whenever a #Planetary Endurance Defenders Attacks are blocked, they gain an Flourish Buff increasing Power Rate by 15%. Striking the Defenders Block will remove 1 Flourish Buff.

Node Changes
To help build the AW Map and push it in a more driven RPG direction, we are now proud to say that we have come up with another lane that will replace the aging Power Control lane. We will revisit it in the future, but untill then, we got something crazy cooking on the stove. It’s the new and improved Skill Defender lane with many new nodes to support this vision.
The following buffs were made to support this vision.
Second Wind (Damage Reflection) - 3:
Whenever the Defender Purifies or Cleanses a Debuff, they gain an Damage Reflection Passive for 8 seconds dealing back 50% of the damage dealt by the Attacker.
Second Wind (Unblockable) - 3:
Whenever the Defender Purifies or Cleanses a Debuff, they gain an Unblockable Charge. If the Defender reaches 3 Unblockable Charges, they gain an Unblockable Passive for 8 seconds.
Power Creep - 3:
Each time the Defender Purifies or Cleanses a Debuff, they gain a Charge that permanently increases their Combat Power Rate by 7%. This goes up to a maximum of 20 Charges.
Winded - 3:
Each time the Defender is knocked down, the Defender suffers an Armor Break Debuff, decreasing their Armor Rating by 50 for 7 seconds.
Standing in Fear:
While close to the Defender, the Defender gains a Fatigue Debuff every 3 seconds, reducing their Critical Rating permanently. Staying far away from the Defender causes these Fatigue effects to gradually fall off.

Comments
As many of you have noticed, there are some incoming changes to Alliance War rewards. For Season 39, we have updated the per war rewards. These updates include:
- A significant increase in the win bonus champion shards.
- Upgrades to the rarity of champion shards awarded for participation across the board. For instance, Tiers 1 to 12 used to award 5* and 4* hero shards. They now award similar quantities of 6* and 5* hero shards.
- Removal of the win/loss crystals, and the addition of a chunk of Loyalty equivalent to or greater than what would have been expected out of those crystals.
Unfortunately, the removal of the crystals didn't happen as planned, so for S39 you will get both the crystals and the increased Loyalty rewards. In S40 the crystals will be removed as planned.As a side note, the reason we are removing crystals from content like AW and AQ is because their value is unclear to players, and because it is easier for us to update standard rewards than it is for us to constantly retune and update crystals.
S40 will also see some small tweaks to ranked rewards at the top, with an increase in Tier 6 Class Catalyst fragments for Masters alliances and the addition of a small amount of Tier 6 Class Catalyst fragments for Platinum alliances to compete for. As we said with the S37 updates, players will continue to see smaller, more regular updates to these rewards to make sure AW rewards remain some of the best in the game.
