Rankup gems count for level up?

Haven’t been able to find anything about this, just wanted to understand RUGs and events before I find myself depending on them.

So... if I use a 4* 4-5 rankup gen during a level up and/or class advancement event will I get points for all the levels my hero “passed” or went through?

Rank-up gem is only a substitute for all the catalysts required for that particular rank. (T4Bs, T4CCs, T1As)

You still have to use gold. Plus it doesn't 'PASS' through any levels per se. You have to level up yourself.
For example, for a 4* r5 RUG. You'll have to level your champ all the way up to r4 level 40. Use that gem, then your champ will be on R5 Level 1. Then you'll have to level him/her to 50 yourself.

it only covers the cost of the rank up. which means gold and all the catalyst are covered.. but after that you still have to dump gold and iso into leveling the hero up like usual

Gold is NOT covered for the rank up either, only the cats.

OP, it counts for points in SA.
I think a moderator has to reply for the part on Level Up and Class advancement.

Man, I mean, getting by without the cats is sweet, but just to rank 5 level 1? You still have to pay all that iso and gold? I’ve got a buttload if both, but for all the work it takes to get those RUGs in chapter 5... weeeeaaaaak yo.

Not as weak as having 3* sigs for rank wins in the latest Thor special solo quests. That is, like, Trump level weak.

Kabaam, if Trump tweeted about you I have no doubt that “sad!” would be the conclusion.
