Confused About Hercules

TheExit27TheExit27 Member Posts: 717 ★★★
Maybe I’m missing something, but my awakened Hercules doesn’t always trigger his immortality. Twice now (once before this recent patch and once after), I had at least 10 charges (some even accumulated in the same fight) and instead of going immortal, I just k.o.’d. Once was against OG Black Widow (of Event Quest 1.2) and the other against the mini-boss Hit-Monkey in Alliance Quest Map 5. It’s happened rarely before in the Arenas too, but I don’t remember against who. Is there a reason for this? Is this happening to other people where it shouldn’t be? I hope he isn’t bugged or anything like that. Hopefully there’s some rational reason I’m overlooking.

Doesn’t trigger for Sp3, when staggered, being nullified, and unlike Nick’s can be prevented by AA Reduction, as the post above mine says.

It’s kind of silly that it works that way, but he’s good enough to compensate.

Probably you had a disorient from the node for the AQ mini boss due to which ability accuracy got reduced. Black widow has a good amount of AA reduction as well

Thank you guys. I didn’t realize any of this. I’m glad he isn’t bugged. I’ll try to be more careful against these guys and anyone else with AA reduction in their kits.

BW has Accuracy Ability reduction, which can shut Hercules' immortality down. Crit-Monke has a good amount of DAAR. In Arena (also in AW) people run Assassin's mastery which also reduces the immortality chance. Also, pretty sure the immortality can be nullified or prevented with stagger/fateseal/neutralize.

Are you sure about the Assassin’s mastery thing? I usually have that maxed out and it never bypasses Hercules’ immortality… unless the AAR and Assassin’s mastery have no effect when fighting him.

Absolutely certain. Assassin’s caps at 60%, so there is still a 40% chance that immortality will trigger. I rarely see it when I’m fighting a Herc in arena, but I do still see it from time to time and my assassin's is usually only 2/5.

LOL. I'll take your word for it. I've been consistently unlucky with those odds. Ironically, I'm EXTREMELY lucky when it comes to standing my ground on heavy attacks. LOL. Thank you all again for clearing this all up for me. Have a great weekend.

Don’t take his word for it because his numbers are wrong. Assassin is a 12-20% defensive ability reduction, so basically the chance to trigger from being struck. (The attack boost is where he got 60%). If he’s suffering a DOT effect, you might not be affecting defensive AA at the moment it rolls for immortality.
