Got from EoP Nexus omega red dupe (now he's unawakened) or new war machine, but everyone says that omega red needs high sig and if he's duped i can spend like 10 sig stones,so is he worth that, cause war machine is also very good.

Omega Red starts out as a decent champion, who can be amazing for clearing lanes like Biohazard.

In order to get the most out of him, he benefits hugely from running the Recoil Masteries plus Willpower, as Double Edge means he'll be regenerating health for the first 16s whilst simultaneously emitting Death Field.

The damage from Death Field rises with his Awakened Sig level, so a high Sig means more and more damage.

You can build up his Sig over time, if you like him.

War Machine is a really decent champ with a bit of utility now; and would be a decent choice, too. An early player might well find WM does more for them than OR does.

    Who did you go for?

What is war machine useful for now?

Genuine question, I haven't used him at all since the update except in arena

What is war machine useful for now?

Genuine question, I haven't used him at all since the update except in arena

A bit like Yellowjacket post-buff, he's not "the best" at anything, but has become really versatile and good for a lot of things. He's a fantastic lane-clearer. And he's got a damage rotation that can ramp up pretty effectively against the boss, even if it needs a little time.

Awakened, he's crazily sustainable, with a really solid (passive) regeneration

His SP1 Prowess removal is really useful against a ton of annoying mutants, and a few nodes in War. Particularly if you don't have Nimrod, or he's been banned (which obviously happens a lot). Opponents like Sauron and Toad are no issue at all.

The Suppression debuffs are a good way of outpacing your opponents combat Power, plus if you run Despair he can largely shut that down, too.

His armour is permanent but can't return. That's a distinct weakness against a lot of cosmic opponents, but actually it turns out that it's really useful against a lot of Mystic opponents; particularly the newer Neutralise champions - he doesn't naturally proc any other buffs; and with his huge Armour and decent block proficiency, you can just take everything on the block, without Dexing.

His prefights are incredibly useful; both for him and because he can support his team.

You'll use Skirmish most, for the damage boost and longer debuffs.

Fortify is useful against so many opponents and situations: fully Armoured, he's got a total Armour rating of +4133, so Fortify gives him the same +4133 Energy resistance. Say goodbye to chip damage against Apocalypse (who can't regain his lost Prowess), and incredible mitigation against Shock and Incinerate damage on nodes like Rain of Fire. Or if Electro is standing in your way, War Machine will clear him out of it using a Fortify prefight and hardly notice the Static Shock damage. Similar for Magik's limbo or Domino's Critical Failure damage; particularly since you can SP1 spam to keep their Power down.

Cleanse is obviously useful in situations like Encroaching Stun, or fighting opponents who can throw beefy DoT effects through block, like Mordo does.

Oh, and opponents who Evade specials? No problem at all.

So War Machine isn't necessarily the best at anything, but he's actually really versatile and he's got the huge advantage of being simple to play. Whilst Nimrod is obviously the better mutant-killer, he's sometimes not available, or the node might punish robots (or buffs: a Buffet node is a little tricky for Nimrod, but easy for WM). Nimrod will take a load of damage against Bishop as he keeps Overloading him. War Machine won't give him Prowess, and can strip it off. With Fortify and Suppression Prefights, he's a really solid option for Bishop.

Take him on a few quests: I guarantee you'll find uses for him 😉
