Gifting - have i already messed up????

i joined an alliance today and just realised - does the 'be in the alliance for 14 days' mean you need to be in that ally 14 days before the event starts, or just 14 days including the event? i really wanted gifting ally rewards - i am desperately hoping that this is not the case.

I believe it’s 14 days including the event, but I wouldn’t start contributing points until AFTER the 14 days have passed, otherwise they won’t count before.

You will have a timer. Don’t contribute points until it ends.
