Gold Missing! One EQ Path

I was about to take a path when I noticed that only 1 of the 4 paths didn't have gold on it. EQ Chapter 1.2. Cavalier difficulty

    So.... I might just be wrong with this and just honestly never noticed, but it appears the easy path with each quest doesn't have a lump of gold at the end of it. Is this intentional?

    It's been that way for as long as I can remember.
