Specials Not Activating

I've been getting this more and more recently, and it's becoming a real pain. I'll perform a combo and then attempt to activate a special, and nothing will happen. It's like the button doesn't recognize that it has been pushed. I know I'm not missing the button - I've been playing this game since the start and my thumb knows where the button is!

Anyone else getting this?

    No, iOS. Fully updated.

    On Android and its happened to me a few times. I'll go to puch it and it doesn't activate. Like its not there. And then start pushing it out of frustration over n over and he stands there blocking and ready stance. So yer like the bottons not even there
