Inbox and stash time limits are different for the expiry of gifted consumables

I received a gift from an alliance member and in the inbox there is a 30 day claim limit where as in the stash it is only 7 days. Which time limit is the correct one?

Stash. You can’t claim it if it’s gone from there.

You have 30 days to claim the item from the mail. If you don't, it's gone.
You have 7 days in your stash. So if you collect on day 30, you'll have 37 days roughly.

That is incorrect, it seems the stash timing is the correct one

I don’t think this is true. There have been plenty of people trying to claim after the stash timer expires only to find an email that no longer has items.
