Why does Voodoo need to be awakened?

Why? I don't really understand the description of his awakened ability so I'm not so sure why I need to dupe him before he becomes super powerful.

The big one is the 100% increased Ability Accuracy when using specials on an Even combo, and 50% decreased Ability Accuracy when using specials on an Uneven combo.

This allows you to always convert EVERY LOA into poison on an even combo (100% accuracy!), and makes the Special 2 very consistent to power drain. Also, using specials on an uneven combo makes fighting evade champs very easy (just keep using specials on an uneven combo and they have 50% less chance to evade. Helps a lot to hit Nightcrawler into Swashbuckling mode). Also helps against Magik, hardly proccing limbo and/or taking no limbo damage. Or on champs that get power gain like Hyperion and Mordo, makes it less likely to proc as well.

Therefore Voodoo is pretty meh unawakened (he's a bit too random and inconsistent), but becomes an absolute God when awakened. Imo the best champion in the game. He has no bad matchups, and is good against every champ if played properly. He's definitely worth a generic awakening gem.

I have him awakened and I use him a lot. I always thought it was just for better regeneration at the start of the fight. Thanks for the explanation! @LoPresti
