Cancelled future?

I've been meaning to ask for a long time. These photos have been on the web for a decent time, they are 100% real, pulled out by craftsmen from the game files. But so far there is no implementation of this idea. It won't be Kabam anymore? I like these screams, have you canceled them, or are they still for future content?

I think this may have been an early concept for relic crystals. I don't think Kabam is planning to add this anytime soon. Devs get rid of concepts like this all the time, and not just in this game either. My guess is these were originally meant to be relic crystals, back when they were masks, which may have given champions special abilities depending on the mask. Or maybe they were something entirely different, like masks that grant champions different node abilities, or increased crystal drop rates for certain champions(hence the name crystal major mask and crystal minor mask). While these certainly would be cool, don't get your hopes up that Kabam will ever add this

I'm not hopeful. There are a huge number of unrealized things/ideas in the game files, but I would like to get a comment from Kabam
