Battleground matching Question

After chatting with my alliance mates about BG strategy, a question came up about matchmaking, if I use Elders Marks to find a match, do I face someone else who also used Elder Mark? Same question for 15 E. Or is it just 1 big pool of players and the fact I used Elder Marks to find a match just means I get more points in solo and Ally event.

The currency to enter is irrelevant to matchmaking, it only determines how many points you contribute to solo and alliance objectives. You can use one and face someone using the other.

Forget elders marks....I'm trying to figure out why I have one r4 which they obviously auto ban and I have to pick 3 of the 20 r4 they have .. it's not even close lately. I haven't gone against someone on my roster level in about 20 matches

Roster level isn’t relevant to anything, there’s one player pool. No separate rewards
