This Rework Concept is about Iron Man (Classic).

About Iron Man
Genius. Billionaire. Playboy. Philanthropist. Tony Stark may be a visionary, but he didn’t realize his life-saving invention would transform him into Iron Man! In his sleek suit, Stark can fly, shoot repulsor rays, and access an array of cutting edge technology to combat the enemies of the Avengers.

For his Mechanics, he has a cutting-edge technology that gives him a lot of immunities, he has a House Party Protocol that allows him to increase his Critical Resistance, Critical Rating, make his Specials 1 and 2 Unblockable, and Unstoppable and Stun Immunity, along with Safeguard against the opponent's Special 1, Special 2, and Heavy Attacks, he can increase his Physical and Energy Resistance and his Combat Power Rate with each Armor Up Buff, he can stack on as many Armor Breaks to increase his damage output, his Uni-Beam Attacks on his Medium, Special 1, and Special 2 Attacks to inflict Energy Vulnerability Passives, and a Special 2 that fuels his Attack Rating and inflicts instant Incinerate or instant Plasma on his Special 2 Beam Attacks, and the last hit can fire a barrage of Missiles at the opponent to inflict Incinerate or Plasma to melt the opponent's Health Bar.

Character Class: Tech

Abilities: Armor Break, Incinerate, Plasma, Unblockable, Armor Up, Energy Vulnerability

The Following Stats and Abilities are based on a Rank 5, Level 65, 5-Star Champion.

Always Active
Iron Man’s suit fitted with cutting-edge technology provides full immunity to all Bleed, Poison, Shock, Incinerate, Coldsnap, Frostbite, Nullify, Stagger, Fate Seal, Heal Block, Power Drain, Power Lock, Power Burn, Special Lock, and Ability Accuracy Reduction effects, as well as Armor Shattered Debuffs.

Armor Up
Iron Man starts the fight with an indefinite Armor Up Buff, increasing Armor Rating by 1400.
While Iron Man has this Buff, he cannot Miss or be Auto-Blocked, and can trigger the Parry Mastery against non-contact Attacks.
If this Buff is lost, it restores itself after 15 seconds, but has its cooldown timer paused while Iron Man is suffering from an Armor Break.

Uni-Beam Attacks - Medium, Special 1, and Special 2 Attacks
Attacks that utilize Iron Man’s Uni-Beam inflict an Energy Vulnerability Passive, reducing Energy Resistance by 900 for 20 seconds.
These attacks do not make contact with the opponent, and deal Energy Damage instead of Physical.

Armor Up Buffs - Max: 20
Every 10th Basic Attack landed by either champion grants Iron Man an indefinite Armor Up Buff, increasing Armor Rating by 233.33.
For each Armor Up Buff on Iron Man, gain the following:
+1130.77 Physical Resistance.
+4900 Energy Resistance.
+5% Combat Power Rate.

Armor Break Debuffs - Max: 60
Unless otherwise stated, Armor Break Debuffs reduce Armor Rating by 525 for 25 seconds.

Light and Medium Attacks
30% chance to inflict an Armor Break Debuff.
This chance is increased by 45% if at least 1 Armor Up Buff is active.

House Party Protocol - Passive
House Party Protocol can’t be activated while Iron Man doesn’t have his Personal Armor Up Buff.
As long as House Party Protocol is active, gain the following:
+100% Critical Resistance.
Special Attacks 1 and 2 are Passively Unblockable and grant no power to the opponent.
An indefinite Precision Passive, increasing Critical Rating by +2100.
Gain Unstoppable and Stun Immunity against the last hit of the opponent’s Special 1, Special 2, and Heavy Attacks, and damage received from any of these attacks can’t exceed 5% of the opponent’s Attack Rating.

Heavy Attacks
Refresh all Armor Break Debuffs on the opponent.

Special Attacks
Each hit inflicts an Armor Break Debuff equal to the number of Armor Up Buffs on Iron Man.

Special Attack 1
On activation, activate House Party Protocol for 10 seconds.
If House Party Protocol was already active, instead Special Lock the opponent for House Party Protocol’s remaining duration.

Special Attack 2
On activation, pause all Armor Break Debuffs until the Special Attack ends.
This Attack gains 826.1 Attack Rating for each Armor Break Debuff on the opponent.
Each Beam hit inflicts an instant Incinerate, dealing 454.86 Energy Damage per Armor Break Debuff on the opponent. Against Mutant Champions, inflict an instant Plasma instead.
The final hit consumes all Armor Up Buffs on Iron Man, inflicting an Incinerate Passive, dealing 3472.2 Energy Damage over 8 seconds. Against Mutant Champions, inflict an identical Plasma instead.

Special Attack 3
This attack Burns all of the opponent’s Power, dealing Direct Damage proportionate to the amount lost.
For every 10% of Power burned this way, gain an indefinite Armor Up Buff of the same potency.
After this attack, activate House Party Protocol for 25 seconds.
If House Party Protocol was already active, gain a Cruelty Passive, increasing Critical Damage Rating by +1233.33 until House Party Protocol expires.
All Personal Armor Break Debuffs on the opponent are retriggered at +100% potency and paused indefinitely. This potency increase does not stack multiple times.

Signature Ability - The Power of the Billionaire
Passive
Once per fight, when Iron Man falls below 15% of his max Health, the Arc Reactor in his chest overloads, granting the following:
A Self-Repair Buff, healing 35% of his maximum Health over 10 seconds.
An Armor Up Buff, increasing Armor Rating by 900.07 for 10 seconds.
If Iron Man is inflicted with a Stun effect, these Buffs are lost.
Additionally, Iron Man’s Armor Up Buffs cannot be removed by Armor Break and are 100% less effective.

Recommended Masteries
Glass Cannon
Double Edge/Liquid Courage

Is this a good rework for Iron Man to have?

Iron Man does start the fight with a juicy Armor Up Buff, of course.

And while he has it, he cannot Miss or be Auto-Blocked, which makes him a great counter to nodes like Tunnel Vision or Sixth Sense, or Champions like Professor X or Peni Parker, and since he can use the Parry Mastery against non-contact attacks, he can take away the danger of Baron Zemo and Ebony Maw's non-contact attacks.

With Ability Accuracy Reduction immunity, he can take away the danger of nodes like Shake and Bake, Hard Knock Life, or Champions like Magneto, Baron Zemo, and Quake.

And his animations gain a couple changes, where his First and Second Medium Attacks utilize his Uni-Beam, which are non-contact Attacks, and his Special 2 can fire three Uni-Beams instead of one, and the last hit fires an onslaught of Missiles at the opponent. His Special 1 and Special 3 animations stay the same.

Prof Hoff and BeroMan, feel free to comment about this rework concept if you'd like.

I think the game would find this design is a little overpowered.
    • He's got more immunities than anyone else in the game, including almost all damaging debuffs and most forms of power control
    • He's got more armour than anyone else in the game
    • He's got by far the most insanely high Energy resistance in the game (I don't know if you did the math on what it stacks up to with 20 Armour Up buffs: 98,000? Seriously?)
    • If he's Awakened, his armour can't be Broken, Shattered, Nullified, Staggered, Fate Sealed, or Neutralised. In fact I can't think of any mechanic currently in the game that can remove it. Possibly Loki.
    • He also has a boosted Combat Power Rate
    • He throws Specials that are Unblockable, don't make contact with the opponent, inflict Energy vulnerability and cause Armour break and don't give Power to the opponent?
    • He counters Miss, Autoblock, and can Parry Non-contact attacks.
It's far too much in any one champion.

I mean he'll get eaten alive by Galan, Ronan, or Venom the Duck, but that's not the point: this champion is almost crazily overpowered. When you're writing these, ask yourself: If you had this one guy on your team, who else would you ever need? If the answer is 'no one' then the champion clearly isn't balanced.

Champions need strengths and weaknesses. They really need specific utility, not every utility.

There's a fabulous older thread here with dozens of buffs you could read through, if you're interested to get an idea for writing them: https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/comment/2127289/#Comment_2127289

Don't stop doing this - you've got some nice ideas - but you need to tone it down quite a lot.

    It's for his Buff concept.
